Isabel Garcia is a founding partner of the Piedmont Law Group. In her practice, she plays an active role in large commercial transactions involving the acquisition, leasing or lending of office towers, mixed use developments, technology/warehousing buildings and multifamily apartment communities. Prior to establishing Piedmont Law Group, Isabel was employed by the law firm of McLarty & Van Voorhies, P.C. for ten years, becoming a partner in 2006.
In addition to practicing and participating in professional activities, Isabel has been an enthusiastic ambassador for Emory University through her volunteer work with the Emory Alumni Association. She served on the University Senate as the Alumni Representative for the graduate schools before accepting a position on the university-wide Emory Alumni Board in 2006, where she served an eight (8) year term, including one year as President of the Board. At the request of the University President, she served on the Search Committee for Emory University’s new Provost during the 2016/2017 school year.
In addition to her formal board activities at the University, Isabel has been a frequent guest speaker at the Law School on issues ranging from the role of woman in the law, to the transactional practice of law and the importance of alumni/student mentoring, as well as a guest speaker at the 2013 LeaderShape Conference.
When not working or busy with Emory activities, Isabel is raising two young sons while her husband is serving our country as a Commander in the United States Navy, with over twenty (20) years of service, often deployed to far reaching, not necessarily desirous locations.
